PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY HAVE VARIOUS RESTRICTIONS, BUT THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THEIR VALUE ON THE LABOUR MARKET

A person with a disability, with their skills and abilities is an asset – they do things differently, but they get the same things done! It has been scientifically proven that the physical drawbacks and disorders of mental development are compensated by some alternative ability. Therefore, we can certainly state that, instead of not seeing, a woman with dark glasses and a white stick sees differently! And that woman, who is observing scrupulously, is not deaf, she simply hears differently. The persistent man in the wheelchair is simply moving differently. They are all united by their different approach to self-evident things, however, the result they reach at the end of the day will be equivalent, and sometimes even surprising! The experience of several employers of Latvia confirms that these employees not only have special abilities, they are also conscientious, diligent, skilful and very interested in achieving the result.

Campaign “Do differently – get the same things done!” draws attention to employment opportunities of people with disabilities in Latvia. People with a disability to date have been a completely unused labour resource, which can enrich the labour market by means of skills and abilities, promote economic development, improve the quality of life, as well as promote growth and economic independence.
